Artist's Comments

Among his many inventions and accomplishments, Nikola Tesla boasted that the earth could be used as a large conductor and that he could create equipment that had the ability to split the planet in two. Many doubted this, but many were filled with dread after Tesla demonstrated the ability to light 200 lights from a distance of 25 miles and create man made lightning bolts over 130 feet long.

Mmmm, never knew that, very interesting! I'm assuming when you talk about bolts of lightning, you are referring to the coil Tesla made. The first time I heard of the Tesla Coil was when I played Red Alert, an eon ago. Since then I've only heard of the coil a few times, here and there, but when they demonstraited what they could do, it was amazing.

Your fractal looks like a giant bolt of lightning that just struck an object and totally obliterated it. Very intense piece, I like it!

Oooooooh that is spooky what Tesla could do...
But this flame is far from scary.
It is stunning...
Love the texture... the intricate details...
The gradient is devine.
I love that you have time now to create.
It's a pleasure each day to see what new masterpieces you create!

Thanks. In middle school, our science class had a tesla coil that was a good three feet tall. They never fired it up, and after seeing a hand held one used, I was very grateful they didn't. Tesla was way ahead of his time. He was a partner with Westinghouse and a rival of Edison (actually worked for Edison at one point). He did things with AC that left the scientific community of that time in the dust.

Thanks. That's exactly what I saw in this one also. Took me awhile to get everything lined up, but it fit Tesla's inventions. :)

Tesla invented the modern world and you made a very good fractal.

Jeff,

Tesla would love this and so do I.

The story and the image create a great Synergy.
